From Txu to the plains of Plano there’s a lot going on in the world of Texas energy. If you live here and you want to teach your kids about being greener citizens we think recycling is a great place to start – here are a few of the ways to get your kids involved.
Have them Sort: Kids love organizational tasks, believe it or not, so get separate buckets for paper, glass, and plastic recycling. They’ll love sorting out the trash and putting things where they need to go.
Get Cash for Cans: Taking cans to a recycling center isn’t exactly a cash cow but the few cents they’ll get back will be cherished by your kids. Help them bag up the cans and teach them the value of a dollar at the same time!
Garden: Plant a vegetable garden in the backyard and show your kids the value of composting. They’ll be recycling and growing healthy alternatives to fast food at the same time – this solution is double duty and will serve them for the rest of their lives.
